Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health will provide compassionate care and support for patients dealing with mental health issues and substance abuse disorders. They will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions to promote mental wellness and recovery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health histories and current conditions
2. Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team
3. Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
4. Provide therapeutic interventions and support for patients and their families
5. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
6. Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
7. Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders and treatment options
8. Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment and adjust care plans as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN licensure in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing or behavioral health
4. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
5. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
6. Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and psychotropic medications
7. Certification in psychiatric nursing (PMHN) preferred
8. BLS certification required
