Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Cath Lab
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Cath Lab is responsible for providing nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures in a catheterization laboratory setting. The RN will assist the interventional cardiologist with various procedures, monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and ensure the overall well-being of the patient during their time in the cath lab.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepares patients for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Assists the interventional cardiologist during procedures
- Monitors patient vital signs and responds to any changes
- Administers medications as prescribed
- Provides post-procedure care and instructions to patients
- Maintains accurate patient records
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Participates in continuous education and training to stay current with cath lab practices and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a cath lab or critical care setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
