Job Title: CNA Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long Term Care (LTC) facilities, you will be responsible for providing direct care to residents in need of assistance with activities of daily living. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to ensure the comfort and well-being of residents in a long-term care setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
2. Monitor and record vital signs
3. Assist with feeding and hydration
4. Transfer residents using proper body mechanics
5. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
6. Follow care plans and communicate any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
8. Assist with range of motion exercises and ambulation
9. Respond to call lights and requests for assistance in a timely manner
10. Document care provided and report any concerns to the nursing team
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
3. Current CNA certification in the state of employment
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Compassionate and patient demeanor
7. Basic understanding of medical terminology
8. Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
9. Strong attention to detail
10. Physical stamina to lift and move residents as needed
