Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for providing specialized care to newborn infants who are critically ill or premature. The RN must monitor vital signs, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for neonates in the NICU.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assessing and monitoring the health status of newborn infants in the NICU.

2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

3. Collaborating with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.

4. Educating parents on how to care for their newborns in the NICU.

5. Documenting patient care in electronic medical records.

6. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

7. Providing emotional support to families during challenging times.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.

2. BLS and NRP certifications required.

3. Previous experience in a NICU setting preferred.

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

6. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
