Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fluoroscopy, vascular anatomy, sterile techniques, and interventional imaging equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Prepare and assist in performing interventional radiology procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, embolizations, biopsies, and drainages.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound) in sterile environments.
Ensure proper patient positioning, contrast administration, and radiation safety during procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, reporting any changes in condition.
Maintain accurate patient records, procedure logs, and equipment documentation.
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (e.g., JCAHO, HIPAA).
Maintain stock of IR supplies and assist in inventory management.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (VI) or (CI) preferred.
Valid state radiologic technologist license (as applicable).
BLS/ACLS certification required.
1–3 years of experience in interventional radiology or cath lab preferred.
Excellent communication, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
Hospital or outpatient interventional radiology suite.
May involve rotating shifts, on-call duties, and exposure to radiation and surgical environments.
