Registered Nurse β Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU RN)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The PACU RN is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage post-operative patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, including vital signs, airway, and level of consciousness.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management as prescribed.
Respond promptly to post-operative complications and emergencies.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and recovery progress.
Educate patients and families regarding post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and PACU protocols.
Current RN license (state-specific).
BLS and ACLS certification required; PACU or critical care experience preferred.
Minimum 1β2 years of PACU, OR, or critical care experience.
Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
