Job Title: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Physicist to join our Radiation Oncology team. The Medical Physicist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to cancer patients. They will work closely with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment plans and ensure the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment.
2. Calibrate and commission new radiation therapy equipment.
3. Develop treatment plans for patients using advanced computer software.
4. Monitor patient treatment and adjust treatment plans as needed.
5. Provide radiation safety education to patients, family members, and staff.
6. Participate in research projects related to radiation oncology.
7. Stay current on developments in radiation therapy technology.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accreditation organizations.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Master's or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or related field.
2. Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
3. Experience working in a clinical radiation oncology setting.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Proficiency in radiation therapy treatment planning software.
