The OB Hospitalist (Obstetrics Hospitalist Physician) is responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care, including labor and delivery management, emergency OB/GYN coverage, and support for outpatient providers. This role ensures safe, high-quality, and timely care for pregnant and postpartum patients in a hospital setting.
Provide 24/7 hospital-based obstetrical care, including labor and delivery management.
Respond to obstetrical emergencies such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, and emergency C-sections.
Perform deliveries (vaginal and cesarean), postpartum care, and gynecologic emergency procedures.
Collaborate with community obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams.
Manage triage for obstetric patients presenting with urgent concerns.
Support high-risk pregnancies and participate in maternal-fetal medicine consults.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, evidence-based guidelines, and patient safety standards.
Document care thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR).
Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and education for medical staff and residents.
MD or DO degree with board certification/eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Active state medical license and DEA certification.
Experience in labor & delivery, OB triage, and OB/GYN emergencies required.
Strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based hospital environment.

Hospital inpatient units, labor & delivery suites, OB emergency triage.
Flexible scheduling with shift-based coverage (days, nights, weekends).
